In Memory of Matthew D Brown

Posted by Tawanda Blake on Monday, September 7, 2015,

I decided to take a drive on my lunch break… The heat was stiff and the sun shown so gracefully through my windshield as I made my way through the lights and then finally my destination. The heat beat against my skin with an intensifying authority. Hrmph, for some odd reason these days are the prettiest. I parked my car and began my walk through the graveled lot, beyond the spectators that stirred with anxiousness and disappointment. Some wore formal clothing in a sequence of purple, and so...

Hero

Posted by Tawanda Blake on Saturday, April 18, 2015,
I used to think that a "Super Hero" was a Marvel Comics, buff, save the day type of dude, or dudett... Ha! I thought those characters were so cool dressed in bulletproof spandex, and all glammed up just to fight this crime, or save an overly exaggerated, screaming chick from a burning building that's on the brink of collapsing. I realized that the super hero was cool, but utterly and grotesquely unrealistic and might I add, OVERRATED... A hero doesn't have powers.(S)He wears suits, jeans, paj...

The Rebound: A Daddies Dream

Posted by Tawanda Blake on Sunday, March 29, 2015,

The Rebound: A Daddies Dream…

It’s a dream of past and present, to rebound. Your present is past; at last, your rebound is you. You are rebounding round and round. You go but nobody knows your mind, your space, it’s all a rebound. Teachen of your space, bad things, your mind locked out and later you begin to trace, “REBOUND.” It seems all out of place. Rebound is your mind saying, “No more! It’s enough!” Just remember that you are your own source. With this in mind, remember...

Loyalty for sale

Posted by Tawanda Blake on Sunday, February 22, 2015,
Stop giving loyalty away to people that don't deserve it, will never give it back, and to those who devalue it as though it were trash being placed on the side of the road. Instead, make'em work for it--earn it. Your loyalty is sacred and it should be for sell. You'll learn that everyone can't afford what you're sitting on their table.

Lovers Lost

Posted by Tawanda Blake on Tuesday, February 10, 2015,
Love hangs in the balance, dangling like a plum--dipping low enough to touch ... It's sweet enough to eat if you'd only just... taste it. Love waits patiently in the evenings and mornings--all day long, hoping to be taken, and waiting to be had...feasted on with an unremarkable craving. It dangles prematurely, and  intentionally, until it's ripe. Love waits patiently to be seen, felt, and heard... It shouts with vigor! It screams out with authority! Can you hear it? Do you want it? Why aren't...

Are single parents really successful parents? I don't mean riches... Can one parent raise a child in this society, successfully?

Posted by Tawanda Blake on Friday, February 6, 2015,

I don’t typically use my site for blogging because, um, number #1, I don’t think I get enough traffic from people that really want to know what I have to say. And #2, who really cares, right?

LOL… Check this out:

Some of you meandering across this page could very well be Friends, Family Members, Face Book Friends, Fri-enemies, Old lovers, Nosey- Rosies, and others that are complete strangers who might be a little curious. You know, it’s a plethora of folks. I don’t know who fits this...

THE OTHER SIDE OF ME

Posted by Tawanda Blake on Wednesday, May 26, 2010,
The other side of me… This is a clear shot at being what I dreamed to be. I’m not being cocky or jumping out of character, I'm discreetly stepping in it. Even if it pains the unbelieving eyes, for my destiny, and goals I'm willing to reach beyond the outer limits to go and get it. No one can manipulate my mind or insult my intelligence with opinions of matters that are irrelevant. Understanding what I believe, and knowing that my achievements are solely dependent on me. Its funny, life al...

The tears haven't dried

Posted by Tawanda Blake on Thursday, May 13, 2010, In : LOVE. LIFE. MEMORIES
The tears run down my face. I'm unable to stop the flow. There's a tragic love song that continues to play melodies in my head, breaking the silence of hurt; being alone has me scared. Selfishness and anguish is what I've been fed. There is an urgency to move on... Why should I choose lust over love when a tainted bond is all that I am offered? How do I keep losing the race with no mental space to think clearly because there's too much hurt. I'm buried deeply into a loveless place of darkness...

Beautiful

Posted by Tawanda Blake on Wednesday, May 12, 2010,
Beautiful is your heart.
Beautiful is your mind that coincides.
Beautiful is the spirit, that you posses.
Beautiful is the color of your eyes.
Beautiful is your business sense and the time spent.
Beautiful is your determination to strive to be free from subjection and ruins of this economy.
Beautiful is the smile no matter if your world is turned upside down.
Beautiful is the way you caress my skin, rub your hands through my hair and tell me how you feel.
Beautiful is the support that you proceed to ...
