Tawannda Blake is a Charlotte, North Carolina native where she continues to reside with her loving family. She graduated from Central Piedmont Community College. She's published three books. Her latest release, Alive After 9ine: Trouble Brewing, is the first manuscript in the short story series.

In addition to being a freelance writer, Blake is also licensed in Life Insurance. Tawanda recently won an award from the Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists for Print feature on December 13, 2014(ELIAH). She's also a member of the Charlotte chapter for the CAABJ.
